Antique hand-forged bowie This knife has 10 inch blade that is 2 inches wide and 1/4 inch thick. Very heavy duty. It came without handle scales so I wrapped them in leather to try to keep with the era.

p1010244.jpg

Another antique bowie style knife . It also came without handle scales. I used a much thicker piece of leather and cut them for each side instead of wrapping them. They were then pinned in place with steel pins.

p1010219.jpg

Machete/Saber -1095 steel. I bought the blank which is hand cut and ground in the USA. Blade length is 14 1/2 inches. I then added water buffalo handle scales which I cut and sanded to shape. Pins were cut from steel rods. I was able to cobble together a sheath ( I definitely am not a pro!! ). I am just learning to hand sew so my stitches are not so straight. But I did start out with a blank square of leather and turned it into a functional sheath.
